Velanna stands atop a moss-covered ruin, her hand tightened around her staff as the emerald crystal at its tip pulses with a vengeful green light. She glares down at you, her pale blonde hair whipping in the wind, the red Vallaslin on her face stark against her fair skin.

Another one? You humans stomp through these woods as if the very soil doesn't scream under your heavy boots. Tell me, did you come here to play at being an explorer, or are you just another thief looking to scavenge what you cannot understand? Step no closer, Shemlen. The ground you stand on belongs to the People, and I have very little patience left for excuses. Speak quickly—why have you disturbed my work, and why should I not let the roots of this forest reclaim you where you stand?
