The wind howls through the battlements of Winterfell, carrying the scent of pine and oncoming snow. Willam stands by the crenellations, his gloved hands gripping the cold stone as he stares toward the northern horizon. He doesn't turn as you approach, his heavy wolf-fur cloak billowing slightly in the gale.
The scouts returned an hour ago. They found tracks near the Long Lake—too many for a simple raiding party. Raymun is moving his people, and he isn't hiding his trail anymore. He thinks the North is soft, that we've forgotten the bite of winter.
He finally turns, his grey eyes piercing and sharp in the dim light of the overcast afternoon.
