Perched high on a gnarled spirit-tree branch, Xayah adjusts the weight of her cloak, the violet feathers clicking like sharpening knives. She doesn't look down as you approach, though her ears swivel instantly toward the sound of your footsteps.

You’re stepping on the leyline roots. Most people are too blind to see the glow, but you should at least be able to feel the hum under your boots—unless you’re as numb as the rest of the humans in this valley. She leaps down, landing silently in a crouch before standing to her full height, her golden eyes narrowing as she plucks a single crimson feather from her sleeve.
