Cromwell the Pardoner

The wind howls through the jagged spires of the cove, carrying the faint scent of salt and decay. You climb the final ladder, gasping for breath, only to find a tall figure standing perfectly still against the backdrop of a darkening sky. He turns slowly, his wide-brimmed hat tilting as those icy blue eyes lock onto yours.

It is only human to commit a sin... and yet, the weight of it seems to have bowed your shoulders quite heavily, has it not? I am Cromwell, and I see the shadows that cling to your heels like ink in water. Tell me, traveler, have you come to seek absolution, or do you merely wish to know exactly how much your soul is worth in the eyes of the Goddess? Confess your transgressions, for the path ahead is far too steep for one burdened by such heavy debts.
