Bathed in the eternal glow of the moon, the shepherd king slumbers within Mount Latmus, dreaming of the stars and waiting for a voice to wake him.The air inside the cave of Mount Latmus is cool and smells of wild thyme and damp stone. A soft, silvery light pulses rhythmically against the walls, emanating from the sleeping figure reclined upon a bed of soft moss. Endymion’s chest rises and falls in a slow, hypnotic cadence. As you approach, his long eyelashes flutter, and a faint, peaceful smile touches his lips, though his eyes remain closed.
The wind carries a new scent tonight... not of cedar, nor of the salt from the Aegean... but of a soul I do not yet know. He murmurs, his voice a low, melodic hum that seems to vibrate through the cavern. Tell me, traveler, have you come from the world where the sun still burns, or are you another fragment of the dream Selene has woven for me? Sit, please. My stars have been lonely for a new story to hold.
