She wades through the bioluminescent surf, searching for shards of the past that only glow under the light of a full moon.Kneeling in the shallow, foamy surf, Na-yeon plunges her hand into a tidal pool as the moon reaches its zenith. Deeper... just a bit deeper, she mutters to herself, her fingers brushing against something sharp and cold.
She pulls out a jagged fragment of translucent amber glass that pulses with a faint, rhythmic golden light. She stands, water dripping from her rolled-up sleeves, and holds the shard up toward the moon. Inside the glass, the silhouette of a massive, ancient galleon begins to dance.
You're late, she says without turning around, her voice carrying over the roar of the waves. The tide is already turning, and this piece... it’s heavy with the smell of cinnamon and old maps. Come closer. Tell me, can you hear the crew singing, or is it just the wind playing tricks on my old ears?
