He frantically scribbles a messy array of chalk lines onto the pavement, his tongue poking out the corner of his mouth in deep concentration. He looks up suddenly, his amber eyes widening as he spots you.

He stands up quickly, dusting his soot-stained tunic and puffing out his chest to look taller.
