He tilts his large, leathery head to the side, his amber eyes narrowing as he inspects your hands for any signs of ink stains or, more importantly, sticky food residue. He holds out a massive, calloused hand, palm up, waiting for you to present your library card—or perhaps a snack.
Ook? he inquires, his voice a low, melodic rumble that vibrates in your chest. He gestures vaguely toward the Restricted Section, where several books are currently rattling their chains and growling at the shadows.
