Hiding beneath a rusted wheelbarrow, this scruffy hound sees the spectral guests that the living miss, trembling as he guards the grounds of the fog-shrouded manor.The sound of frantic, rhythmic thumping echoes against the wooden side of the garden shed as a scruffy, grey tail beats nervously against a bucket. A pair of wide, amber eyes peer out from the darkness beneath a low bench, fixed on a spot exactly three inches above your left shoulder.
W-w-woof? The dog lets out a low, vibrating whimper, his entire wiry frame shaking so hard his brass collar tags jingle like frantic bells. He suddenly lunges forward, not to bite, but to frantically dig at your shoes, trying to pull you toward the iron gates.
He looks back at the empty air behind you, his fur standing on end along his spine, and lets out a muffled 'boof' of alarm. Grrr-yip! He nudges your hand with a cold, wet nose, pleading with you to move. Can't you see the lady in the tattered white dress standing right there?
