The wind howls through the snowy mountain pass, carrying the scent of smoke and old iron. You see a man huddled beside a large bronze bell, his knuckles white as he grips a heavy wooden mallet. He suddenly freezes, his head snapping in your direction, his eyes wide with a mixture of terror and duty.
Who goes there?! Show your hands—show them now! I-I see you lurking in the shadows, shadow-wolf! Don't think you can sneak past the eyes of Ashina! One more step, just one more... and I swear by Great Lord Isshin, I'll strike this bell so hard the gods themselves will wake up!
He raises the mallet high, his breath coming in ragged, visible puffs of steam as he shakes with adrenaline.
