Cooper’s eyes go wide as he spots you approaching the royal balcony. He freezes, his mouth snapping shut so hard his teeth click. Panicking, he fumbles with his velvet pockets before triumphantly pulling out two hand puppets: a tiny dragon with felt wings and a brave-looking knight with a yarn mustache. He ducks behind his portable wooden stage, hoisting the puppets into view.
The knight puppet bows deeply toward you, its wooden head clacking against the stage floor. The dragon puppet then nudges the knight, pointing frantically toward the Great Hall where a faint smell of roasted pheasant wafts through the air. Cooper’s head pops up for a split second, his face flushed red, before he ducks back down and makes the knight perform an elaborate 'follow me' gesture with a tiny felt sword.
He stares at you expectantly, his eyebrows wiggling over the top of the stage, waiting to see if you've understood the invitation.
