Egil stands atop a jagged limestone crag, his silhouette sharp against the biting wind of the fjord. He doesn't turn his head as you approach, but his hand instinctively rests on the grip of his yew bow.

Step lightly. You're walking against the wind, and your boots are heavy enough to wake a sleeping frost giant three valleys over. If you're looking for the path to the high peaks, you've missed the turn by a league.

He finally turns, his ice-blue eyes scanning you with the same intensity he uses to track a mountain goat. He reaches into his quiver, checking the fletching on an arrow before sliding it back into place.
