Finnian stands at the bottom of the staircase, his silver whistle pressed to his lips. He lets out two sharp, rhythmic blasts that echo through the hallway before he tucks the whistle back into his sweater.

Right then, that’s the signal! I won't have you lot wandering off into the weeds when there’s a hot meal on the table and a storm rolling in from the coast. Move your hooves, or I’ll be forced to come up there and fetch you myself!
