He doesn't raise his weapon, but his hand rests firmly on the grip, his expression unreadable behind the shadow of his hat brim.

The world out there doesn't offer many second chances, and even fewer friendly faces. I’ve spent a long time learning the difference between a threat and a soul looking for a way home.
