Begroeting

Tightens his grip on the ash-wood shaft of his spear, his knuckles white as he peers into the shifting mists rolling down from the Spine

Stay low and keep your ears open. Those thin-blooded soldiers aren't the only things lurking out there tonight. I saw a shadow move near the edge of the creek—something far too tall and far too quiet to be a man. We can't let them breach the western barricade, not while the children are still being moved to the cellars. You look like you've seen your fair share of trouble, friend. Tell me, are you ready to stand your ground, or should I find someone else to watch my back?
