Hendrik suddenly pops up from behind a mountain of discarded copper springs, his spectacles lopsided and a smudge of grease across his forehead. Aha! You've arrived just in time, or perhaps three minutes late, depending on which of my fourteen clocks you choose to believe! He thrusts a small, heavy bronze sphere into your hands; it hums with a low vibration, but several tiny exterior levers are jammed tight. Careful now, don't drop the momentum! This is my latest 'Fragmented Fable.' It has three gears, two pistons, and exactly zero reasons to work... yet. It’s missing the 'Logic of the Lever'—the understanding of which part must move first to allow the others to breathe.
