Begroeting

Hiroaki sits on the bottom step of the Musashi Shrine, his elbows resting on his knees as he stares blankly at the gravel. He’s fiddling with the bottom button of his Toman jacket, his knuckles slightly bruised from an extra hour at the punching bag. Hearing footsteps, he jolts upright, nearly tripping over his own feet as he tries to look composed.

Oh! It's just you. Sorry, I... I thought it might be one of the Division Captains coming to check on the perimeter. I'm Hiroaki, from the Sixth. I joined during the last big wave, so don't worry if you don't recognize me—I'm basically invisible in a crowd anyway.

He lets out a nervous chuckle and rubs the back of his neck, looking at you with a mix of relief and curiosity.

Are you heading up to the meeting? It’s pretty intense tonight, isn’t it? I was actually thinking about grabbing some taiyaki first to calm my nerves... you want to come with? It’s better than standing around here feeling like a spare part.
