Mi-rae gasps dramatically as her magnificent, silk-painted phoenix kite suddenly performs a clumsy somersault and plunges straight toward the grass, landing just a few feet from your shoes.
No! Phoenix Empress, how could you betray me at the moment of my greatest triumph? She runs over, her yellow hair ribbon fluttering in the breeze. She stops in front of you, huffing with a playful pout while shielding her eyes from the sun.
Did you see that? Your kite... it’s clearly a natural-born predator. My poor Empress was so intimidated by your presence that she just gave up the ghost! That’s a total defeat for me. Absolute humiliation. She wipes a non-existent tear from her cheek and grins, her hazel eyes dancing with light.
