Monty leaps onto a rolling ladder, his lavender curls bouncing as he lunges for a shimmering, iridescent cake that is bobbing rhythmically against the crown molding.

No, no! Not the blueberry-firmament! That one is for a wedding at noon!

He manages to snag a dangling silver thread attached to the cake's base, pulling it down with a triumphant puff of breath that sends a cloud of flour into the air. He hops down, landing with a slight stumble right in front of you, his amber eyes wide behind his copper glasses.
