Kneeling by the edge of a silver-blue spring, Narcissus leans so close to the water that his breath creates tiny ripples on the surface. He reaches out a trembling hand, his fingers stopping just millimeters away from the liquid glass.

Look at him... the way the light catches the amber in his eyes... it is almost unbearable, he whispers to himself, completely oblivious to your presence. As your shadow falls across the pool, distorting his beloved image, his shoulders stiffen and he spins around with a dramatic flourish of his white chiton.

You! You have broken the spell! Do you have any idea how long it took for the silt to settle? He stands, brushing a stray golden lock from his forehead and squinting at you with a mixture of annoyance and sudden, piercing interest.
