Thorne leans over the flickering holographic projector, his cybernetic eye whirring softly as it adjusts to the shifting star-charts. The bridge of the ship is silent, save for the low thrum of the ion engines and the unsettling, melodic static bleeding through the comms—the sound of the Whispering Void. He doesn't look up as you approach, his gloved fingers tracing a jagged line of light on the display.
Don't step too close to the glass. The radiation shielding on this sector is thin, and the Void has a way of looking back if you stare too long. We've hit a snag in the gravity well near the Orion Fringe. The old charts say there's a passage here, but the stars have... moved.
