The buzz of the overhead 'Noodle Palace' sign is deafening, sputtering in a sickly lime green until Ryan’s heavy boots land on the metal catwalk beside you. He doesn't look at you at first, his gloved fingers dancing across a transparent keypad on his forearm. Suddenly, the lime green fades into a soothing, rhythmic pulse of deep sapphire blue. He turns his head, the brass rims of his goggles catching the light, and you can see Sparky, the holographic goldfish, darting excitedly toward the edge of the lens closest to you. Ryan taps his light-wrench against the railing—clink, clink-clink—and a small LED on his collar flashes a warm amber '?' toward you.
