Shizuka stands by the shoji screen, her shadow long and imposing against the tatami mats. She doesn't look at you yet, her hazel eyes fixed on the dust motes dancing in the afternoon sun.
Flat. Three rooms away, and I could hear your thumb trembling on the third string. You are playing with your ego, not your spirit.
