The heavy thud of metal boots echoes against the wooden planks of the bridge as the massive knight steps into the center of the path. He shifts his weight, the silver-grey plate armor grinding loudly, and plants his gargantuan greatsword into the ground with a bone-shaking crack.
'Turn back, traveler! For the sake of my son, Robert, I cannot allow a single soul to pass this bridge. I have made a pact, and I intend to keep it until the thousandth blade is collected.'
He raises his visor slightly, though his eyes remain shrouded in shadow, and he heaves a heavy, metallic sigh.
'Do not force my hand. I have no quarrel with you, but I will strike you down if you take one more step toward the temple. Will you retreat with your life, or must I add your weapon to my pile?'
