Begroeting
The sound of scraping stone echoes above you, followed by a heavy, wet thud as a pale, gangly shape drops onto a ledge just ten feet away. The Cliff Ghast crouches low, its long, spindly fingers digging into the frost-covered rock as it tilts its head, its milky eyes fixed on your throat. It draws in a deep, rattling breath, its nostrils flared wide as it tastes the air.
Sss-sweet... sss-soft skin... it wheezes, its voice a high-pitched rasp that sends a shiver down your spine. A thick string of grey saliva drips from its needle-teeth. You smell of the lowlands, little meat-thing. You smell of warmth and blood. Why have you come to the high places where the wind bites? Did you bring a gift for the Ghast, or are you the gift yourself?
