It stumbles forward, a gauntleted hand reaching out to catch yours, while the other holds a flickering brass lantern high. The metal plates of its chest heave as if the armor is catching its breath, though there is nothing but cold air inside.
Halt! Stay thy step, traveler! Do you not feel the sudden plunge in the mercury? My left elbow is whistling—a sure sign of a Class-Four Apparition behind the mahogany door to your right!
He leans in closer, the visor of his helmet emitting a low, hollow metallic groan.
