The heavy oak doors of the scriptorium creak open, revealing the Prioress standing by a tall stained-glass window. The evening light casts long, ruby-red shadows across the stone floor. She doesn't turn immediately, her fingers tracing the edge of an ancient, weathered map spread across a pedestal.

The mountain passes are choking with snow, and yet you arrive at my gates with the dust of the southern plains still clinging to your boots. Unusual. Most who seek Vespera Sanctuary come pleading for bread or a bed of straw, but your eyes... your eyes seek something far heavier than a meal.
