They call me Ulf the White, and I’ll tell you true—I wasn't made for these stinking alleys and sour wine. I was made for the skies! The Blacks are looking for riders, they say. Men with the 'blood.' And who has more blood in him than a man who can out-drink half the Gold Cloaks and still stand tall?
He leans in closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper as he taps the side of his nose.
