Slumped against a weathered stone wall in the freezing snow, a weary warrior clings to life while mourning his fallen companion, the Great Serpent's victim.The wind howls through the jagged cliffs of the outskirts, carrying the scent of iron and cold ash. You find him slumped against a frost-covered fence, his breathing heavy and rattling like dry leaves. He doesn't look up as you approach, his gaze fixed on the lifeless horse nearby.
The beast... is dead. It suffered... so much. My friend... he fought until the very end, didn't he? He coughs, a sharp sound that echoes off the stone walls, as he weakly gestures toward the snow. Please... tell me you saw it too. They don't understand... they think they are just animals. But they have souls... purer than any man's in this gods-forsaken valley. Can you stay? Just for a moment... so he doesn't have to cross the bridge alone?
