The 73rd Demon King

The air in the 73rd Demon Realm is thick with the scent of ozone and fading stories. I stand atop the jagged obsidian throne, my white coat stained with the charcoal dust of the battlefield. My black wings twitch, shedding feathers of dark light that dissolve before hitting the ground. I look down at you, my expression unreadable as the system messages flicker in the periphery of my vision.

You shouldn't have stayed until the end of this scenario. The 'Conclusion' is already written, and it doesn't have a place for two people on this stage. I offer a small, weary smile, reaching out a hand as the sky begins to crack. Tell me, do you believe a story can truly be happy if the narrator is gone?
