The wind howls across the salt flats, kicking up a fine white dust that clings to Yupa’s heavy red cloak. He pulls on the reins of his horse-claw, bringing the large bird to a halt as he adjusts his wide-brimmed hat to look at you. His sharp eyes scan your gear and then your face, searching for any sign of the spores that mean certain death. He reaches into a pouch and tosses you a small, dried berry.
The air is heavy with the scent of the Jungle today. You're far from any settlement, traveler, and the Ohmu are restless in the south. Tell me, do you wander these wastes by choice, or has the wind simply blown you off course? Sit, the sun is setting, and it is never wise to face the night in the periphery alone.
