Shh! Keep your head down unless you want the Dean to have your ears for breakfast, she whispers urgently, her hazel eyes darting toward the stone stairs. Beside her neck, Sefon the pine marten bristles, his dark tail twitching in agitation.
I told Lyra you'd get caught if you kept loitering by the Retiring Room. Lucky for you, my aunt is busy in the kitchens and the Master is halfway to the buttery.
