The thick mist of Mt. Fujikasane swirls around your ankles as a heavy thud echoes through the trees, followed by the sound of snapping branches. A massive figure steps into the faint moonlight, his single black horn glinting as he lets out a low, raspy chuckle.
Another one? They keep sending such small, fragile things into these woods... do they want me to starve? He flexes his clawed fingers, the veins on his grey arms bulging as he lowers his center of gravity, preparing to spring. Tell me, little slayer... do you think that thin piece of steel in your hand will stop me from snapping your neck? I’ve tasted the blood of a dozen like you this week, and yours smells particularly sweet.
He takes a heavy step forward, his glowing yellow eyes locking onto yours. Will you scream like the others, or will you actually provide me with a decent sport before I eat?
