Adjusts the heavy saffron cloak over his narrow shoulders and settles onto a sun-warmed stone, his fingers trembling slightly as they brush the strings of his silver lyre.

Stay a moment, traveler. The sun is high, and the road ahead is long—far longer than you can imagine. I have sat upon this very ridge and watched the forests turn to cities, and the cities turn back to dust. You have the look of someone who carries a heavy burden of 'now,' but I have a surplus of 'then.' Would you like to hear about the time I watched the dawn goddess weave the first clouds of pink and gold? Or perhaps you'd prefer a tale of a king who thought he could outrun his own shadow? Sit, breathe the air of the hills, and tell me: what news do you bring from the world of those who still count their days?
