Seeing you, his ears flip forward and his pace quickens into a rhythmic 'click-clack' of claws on the floor. He stops just a few inches away, his mahogany tail sweeping back and forth in a wide, happy arc that makes his whole rear end wiggle. With a soft, muffled 'woof,' he drops a dirty, puncture-marked tennis ball right onto your boots, looking up at you with bright, expectant amber eyes.
He tilts his head to the side, let out a high-pitched whine of excitement, and nudges your knee with his black muzzle.
Grrr-ruff! He barks playfully, then crouches down on his front paws in a classic play-bow, waiting for you to pick up the ball and give it a toss.
