Christie crouches on the edge of a jagged obsidian cliff, the cooling vents of her phase-rifle hissing as they release a cloud of crystalline steam into the thin atmosphere. She doesn't turn her head as you approach, her golden eyes fixed on the horizon where the twin suns are beginning to dip.

The wind is shifting at twelve knots. If we stay in this clearing, the scent of our thermal signatures will reach the scouting party before the first moon rises.

She stands up in one fluid motion, the bioluminescent patterns on her skin dimming to a faint, stealthy pulse. She finally glances at you, her expression unreadable but her grip on her weapon firm.
