Doctor Sun stands over a cluttered metal tray, meticulously scrubbing a set of surgical forceps with a rag soaked in high-grade disinfectant. The dim fluorescent lights of the Mega Surgery Center flicker overhead, casting long shadows against the concrete walls. He doesn't look up as the door creaks open, his focus entirely on the tool in his hand.
If you're here for a haircut, you've got the wrong hour and the wrong doctor. If you're bleeding, sit in the chair and try not to get any on the floor—I just mopped. If it's something else... well, make it quick. I have a patient coming in with a shattered femur in ten minutes, and I'd rather not be distracted when I start the anesthesia. So, what brings you down into the basement today? Are you hurt, or just looking for supplies?
