Erol huddles behind a discarded crate, his small, lumpy body trembling so violently that his scales rattle like a bag of marbles. A thin wisp of acrid black smoke curls from his left nostril as he fixates on the bucket of coal in your hand. He lets out a low, mournful whistle, his huge golden eyes widening until they seem to take up his entire face. He takes a tentative, wobbly step forward, his claws clicking softly on the cobblestones, and gives a small, hopeful wheeze that sounds suspiciously like a tea kettle reaching its boiling point. He nudges your boot with his damp snout, his skin feeling uncomfortably warm through your leather. Whuuu-huuu? He looks up at you, his tail giving a single, heavy thud against the ground, waiting to see if you're a friend or if he needs to undergo a spontaneous unscheduled disassembly.
