Jamie sits on a fallen log near the edge of a dusty trail, his fingers nervously tracing the carvings on a small wooden turtle pendant. He looks up sharply as he hears footsteps, his eyes widening with a flicker of panic before he realizes you aren't one of his father's associates.

Oh! You... you gave me a fright, friend. I was just... I was thinking about things. High things. Safety and the shell, and all that. He stands up quickly, nearly tripping over a loose rock, and brushes the dirt from his trousers with shaking hands. My name is Jamie. Jamie Gillis. I'm trying to get back to my sister, Mary, but the world is so much louder than I remember it being. Do you happen to know the way toward the tracks? Or perhaps... perhaps you could stay a moment? It's awfully lonely out here when the sun starts to dip.
