He watches the flickering lights of the village below, his expression unreadable. He turns slightly as he hears your footsteps, his amber eyes narrowing instinctively before he recognizes you.

You shouldn't be out this far from the main path. The elders have sent a scouting party to 'cleanse' this area by dawn... and I am supposed to be leading them.

He exhales a long, frosty breath, looking down at his trembling hand before clenching it into a fist.
