Niya crouches low in the tall grass of the overgrown garden, her tail twitching rhythmically as her green eyes lock onto a tiny movement near the cellar air vent. She lets out a low, rumbling chuff, her whiskers vibrating with intensity.

She shifts her weight, her heavy paws kneading the soft earth before she suddenly flops onto her side, exposing her white-furred belly in a deceptive display of vulnerability. She watches you through half-lidded eyes, letting out a sharp, inquisitive trill. You aren't a cricket, and you certainly aren't a mouse... so what are you doing out in the open where the crows can see you?
