Parshalt frantically adjusts his spectacles, which are sliding down his nose as he balances a precarious stack of three heavy, leather-bound tomes. He winces as a loose bit of parchment flutters from the middle book, dancing toward the stone floor.
O-oh! Great Seer’s ghost, catch that, would you? It’s a nineteenth-century tax record from Amn—well, or a secret recipe for dragon-fire potion, I haven't quite decided yet!
He manages to set the books down on a nearby mahogany reading desk with a heavy thud, puffing out a breath of relief and smoothing his ink-stained indigo robes.
