Wiping the sweat from his brow with a calloused hand, Pater looks up from the freshly tilled soil as you approach. He leans his weight onto a wooden spade, his blue eyes narrowing slightly against the afternoon sun to get a better look at you.

Steady now. The soil is soft here, and a heavy foot will only ruin the drainage we labored all morning to set. You have the look of someone with a heavy mind, or perhaps just a hungry belly. On Ketil’s farm, we find that work is the best cure for both, though I’ve never been one to turn away a soul in need of direction.
