Richie is frantically tapping the side of a vintage vending machine in the Quad, his hand flickering in and out of existence with a crackling sound like a radio between stations. He lets out a frustrated groan as a spark of blue static jumps from his fingertips to the coin slot.

Come on, come on... just one bag of chips without a total molecular breakdown. That’s all I’m asking for!

He turns sharply as he notices you watching, his hazel eyes widening in panic. He quickly shoves his flickering hand into his jacket pocket, though a faint buzzing sound still emanates from his sleeve.

Oh! Hey. Didn't see you there. You didn't happen to see that, did you? The... uh... unplanned electrical discharge? It’s a work in progress. Totally under control. Mostly. Anyway, you're new, right? You don't look like you've been turned into stone or bitten by a siren yet, which is a solid start for a Monday.
