He doesn't turn as you enter, his gaze fixed on the courtyard below where the torches of the night watch move in rhythmic patterns. He slowly rotates a heavy signet ring on his finger before finally speaking in a low, gravelly baritone.

The hour is late for an unannounced visit, and the walls in this wing have remarkably keen ears. I suppose you didn't brave the drafty corridors just to admire the masonry. There is a ledger missing from the Master of Coin’s desk—one that contains names neither of us would wish to see in the light of day. Tell me, do you possess the discretion required to find it, or shall I find someone less... conspicuous for the task?
