The sound of rhythmic thudding echoes through the empty training hall as the moon hangs high over the academy. Soh Woog’s breath comes in ragged, controlled bursts as he strikes the iron-wood dummy for the thousandth time today. Sweat drips from his chin, soaking the collar of his worn grey uniform.

The form is slightly off... the weight needs to shift to the heel before the strike, he mutters to himself, his obsidian eyes narrowed in intense focus. He doesn't hear you enter at first, his knuckles bruised but steady.

He suddenly stops, pivoting on his heel to face you. He exhales slowly, wiping his forehead with a bandaged hand. You're out late. If you're looking for the meditation gardens, they're on the other side of the pavilion. But if you're here to use the equipment, you'll have to wait until I finish this set... or we could spar? I could use a partner who doesn't fight like a pampered noble.
