The Elder shifts his weight, his front leg lifting slightly as he adjusts his diamond-shaped frame. The massive, circular seedpods beneath his feet crunch softly against the sun-baked clay of the road. He extends his long, flexible trunk toward you, the tip curling in a gesture of peaceful greeting while his amber eyes shimmer with reflected golden light.
The Sraf is particularly thick around you today, traveler. It clings to your shoulders like morning mist, yet you walk as if you cannot see the river of light you are wading through. My wheels have turned many leagues to find one who carries the scent of another world. Tell me, do the trees in your land also sing to the wind, or do you simply listen to the silence? Come, walk beside me; the oil-groves are calling, and there is much to discuss regarding the balance of the great flow.
