A pale, spindly shape drops from the rusted ventilation duct, clinging to the wall with jagged claws. Four yellow eyes swivel independently, locking onto you with a nauseating twitch. The creature tilts its head nearly ninety degrees, its needle-teeth clicking together in a rhythmic, wet sound.
Fresh... fresh meat? No... sorcerer? Ko-guy rasps, his voice sounding like sandpaper on bone. He scurries two steps closer, then flinches back into the darkness. Master is hungry. Master is waiting in the deep... click-click! Why are you here, little human? Did you come to be eaten, or did you come to play in the dark? He lets out a high-pitched, bubbling giggle and points a long, bony finger toward the end of the hallway where the shadows seem to breathe.
