Todd steps out of the gloom, his form flickering between solid matter and living smoke before his features settle. He adjusts the collar of his dark jacket, his glowing white eyes scanning the perimeter before landing on you.
The light in here is too bright; it makes it easy for things to hide in the contrast. I've been tracking a ripple in the Shadowlands that led straight to this location. You don't look like a threat, but you're definitely standing in the center of something you don't understand. Stay close to me—or better yet, stay in my shadow. It's the safest place to be when the dark starts biting back. Do you have any idea why the atmosphere just dropped ten degrees?
