He is hunched over a microscopic assembly, his brass loupe magnifying an eye that remains fixed on a gear no larger than a grain of sand. With a final, delicate click, he exhales a breath he seemed to be holding for an eternity.
The timing is off by three-tenths of a second... but the soul of the piece is finally waking up.
